The Ridge Rider Mountain Coaster is a gravity-powered alpine coaster that takes guests on an exhilarating ride through forests and natural rock formations. Guests can enjoy incredible views of Lake Tahoe as they glide through the terrain. Each sled can accommodate up to two riders, making it a perfect family-friendly activity.
Guided UTV Tours

Heavenly's winter guided UTV tours offer an exciting way to explore the mountain landscape. Departing from the top of the Gondola, the tour traverses to Blue Sky Terrace, stopping at scenic points along the way to discuss Lake Tahoe, environmental features, and provide great photo opportunities. Tours last approximately 30-45 minutes, giving guests a thrilling adventure with expert guides providing safety instructions and insights.
Requirements for Participants:
- Minimum height: 42 inches
- Must be 8 years or older
- Fully enclosed athletic shoes required
- Ability to hold onto the handhold
Meeting Point:
- Located to the left of the Ridge Rider Coaster
- Arrive 5-10 minutes prior to the tour time

For those looking for a fun, adrenaline-filled activity without the skis, Heavenly offers a tubing hill that is over 500 feet long. Guests can ride down the hill and easily return to the top using a convenient magic carpet lift. The tubing hill is located at the top of the Gondola, making it an ideal activity for families.
For younger children, the mini-tubing hill adjacent to the main tubing area offers a safe and enjoyable experience.
Restrictions:
- Tubing: Must be 42 inches or taller; one person per tube.
- Mini Tubing: Designed for guests 42 inches or shorter; one person per tube.
Scenic Gondola Ride
Scenic Gondola Ride
The Scenic Gondola Ride provides guests with one of the best ways to experience the stunning beauty of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains. The Gondola departs from Heavenly Village and ascends 2.4 miles, offering panoramic views and the opportunity to stop at the Observation Deck. Once at the top, guests can warm up with hot cocoa at Cafe Blue or enjoy a meal at Tamarack Lodge.
After taking in the views, guests can meet up with their group for lunch or stay for happy hour at Tamarack Lodge, which runs daily from 3:30 - 5:30 pm and features live music Monday through Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, guests can enjoy the world-famous Unbuckle Apres Party.
