Choose Your Base Area

Choose your base area

Heavenly has four base areas, with two in California and two in Nevada

Stagecoach Lodge

Stagecoach Lodge, located at the top of Kingsbury Grade in Nevada, offers quick access to Heavenly for intermediate skiers and riders. The lodge provides direct access to the Stagecoach Express, making it easy to explore the Nevada side of the mountain. This base area is a hidden gem for those looking for a more laid-back starting point.

Boulder Lodge

Boulder Lodge is perfect for families and beginners, offering plenty of parking and easy access to beginner-friendly terrain. The Ski and Ride School at Boulder Lodge provides lessons for both children and adults, making it an ideal starting point for those new to skiing or snowboarding. Guests can also enjoy on-site dining to keep their energy up throughout the day.

California Heavenly Village and Gondola

For visitors staying in South Lake Tahoe, the California Heavenly Village and Gondola provide a convenient starting point. The Gondola takes guests directly to the heart of Heavenly Mountain Resort, offering stunning views along the way. This base area is ideal for those staying nearby, with lodging options such as Marriot properties and Zalanta Lodge within walking distance. Reservations are recommended for Ski and Ride School lessons at this location.

California Base Lodge

The California Base Lodge is the best choice for those driving to the resort, especially if the group has varying skill levels. With the most parking available among all four base areas, this lodge provides easy access to the mountain via the Gunbarrel Express or the TRAM. From here, skiers and riders can take in breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe while exploring the mountain.
