Our History
Mount Snow has a long and storied history that includes numerous crazy events, innovations, and stories that took place over the years of skiing and riding in southern Vermont since 1954. A true visionary, Walt Schoenknecht made this place one of a kind. One of the very first ski resorts on the East Coast, Mount Snow is continuing to define the ski industry even today.

The MOOver is a free transportation shuttle serving the Mount Snow Valley. Painted like Holstein cows, the MOOver has over 30 stops along the Route 9/Route 100 corridor, between Wilmington and West Dover. It’s perfect if you don’t want to drive to Mount Snow. Just put your skis or snowboard in the racks provided on each bus and you’re on your way! The MOOver is the third largest public transportation system in the state of Vermont.

Mount Snow Resort is located in southern Vermont in West Dover, and is the most accessible Green Mountain getaway from southern metropolitan areas.
Mount Snow Resort has three base areas: Main Base, Sundance Base, and Carinthia Base. Lodges and parking lots are located at each of the base locations.
The Main Base is a centralized area where most restaurants, retail, and services are located. The Main Base Area leads right to the Grand Summit Resort Hotel.
